LIVE LIGHTING.

We were contacted by Anthony at Live Lighting, a leading provider of stage lighting solutions, to undertake a video project that would capture a Burna Boy concert at the London Stadium. The scope of the project encompassed filming the concert, documenting the intricate operation of the lighting setup, and conducting interviews with Anthony Hazelden, the mastermind behind Live Lighting's creative designs. This case study explores the technical aspects, challenges encountered, and the ultimately successful execution of the project.

The project's primary goal was to create a captivating video that showcased Live Lighting's expertise in stage lighting while also capturing the electrifying atmosphere of a Burna Boy concert. To achieve this, BC Media used cutting-edge equipment, including the Sony FX3 camera, Samyang lenses, and DJI Ronin RS3 gimbal. The post-production work was carried out using Final Cut Pro software, ensuring a polished and professional outcome.

Prior to the concert, BC Media executed a thorough planning phase to ensure a flawless event. Their key pre-production activities encompassed the following:

Coordination with Live Lighting and Burna Boy's team to fully comprehend the dynamics and lighting requirements of the concert.

High-quality sound design was incorporated to capture the energetic ambiance of the concert. BC Media synchronized the audio with the visuals and seamlessly integrated Burna Boy's music, creating an immersive experience.

   Challenges and Solutions:
In the context of a concert shoot, BC Media encountered two major challenges. First, the low-light conditions posed a significant obstacle to achieving high-quality footage. To overcome this hurdle, BC Media relied on the exceptional low-light performance of the Sony FX3 camera. Additionally, they made use of appropriate camera settings and lenses to optimize the visuals under such conditions.

The second challenge revolved around the dynamic nature of the concert. As the event was fast-paced, capturing dynamic shots while maintaining stability was crucial. To address this concern, BC Media employed the DJI Ronin RS3 gimbal, which provided smooth movements and ensured steady footage throughout the shoot.
